Ubisoft's said that Splinter Cell: Conviction was not delayed on PC because of its much-criticised DRM system.

A spokesperson told Eurogamer that it just needed some more work.

"The reason that has been given for the delay is that the extra time was need to polish and debug the game," said the rep. "The slip has not been linked to the DRM."

The PC versions of Assassin's Creed II and Silent Hunter V has already gotten the new system, which has not gone down well with PC gamers at all since its introduction at the start of the year.

Conviction on PC is now due out on April 29, with the Xbox 360 version out two weeks before it on April 16.
