Ubisoft announces The Engine Room, gives insight into games development
Ubisoft has announced The Engine Room, which is a blog allowing game developers to share insight into various game development updates and practices with the development community.
According to Olivier Gueydon, director of tools and middleware at Ubisoft, the website was the "result of Ubisoft's employees’ desire to have an official channel to talk about technology with other professionals around the world."
"By sharing knowledge, best practices and insightful ideas, we hope it will serve to nourish insightful conversation within the technology community and maybe stimulate new innovations," he told Gamasutra at GDC.
"What's great about The Engine Room blog is that any subject related to technology in any way, shape or form can be addressed. The site literally offers our best minds an official platform to explore and exchange on a wide variety of creative and technological innovations."
The first few posts will focus on "crowd rendering, machine-learning, game telemetry in playtesting and data-driven AI," according to Gamasutra, with a wide range of subjects being added over the course of the site's existence.
The blog will also post news and presentations held and presented by Ubisoft and its developers.
