Twitch ranked 4th in US peak internet traffic

The Wall Street Journal has posted a graphic that lists a ranking of the top drivers of internet traffic in the United States for the past week, and lo and behold the no. 4 network is none other game streaming site Twitch, with 1.8 percent of all peak traffic. It comes in below the networks of Netflix Google (which includes YouTube) and Apple, and above Hulu, Facbeook and even Steam/Valve.

Having Twitch streaming be integrated into the PS4 is no small contributor to the rise of Twitch. Already a formidable force before November, having it front and center as a key PS4 feature created a ton of new awareness and enabled folks to get into that space for the first time.
