Trading, PvP and other Pokemon Go features need to be rolled out slowly, says Pokemon Co. CEO
The Pokemon Company's CEO Tsunekazu Ishihara has said to expect more new features to be added to Pokemon Go, just not at a fast pace.
Speaking with the Wall Street Journal, Ishihara reiterated comments made last week by Ninatic Labs CEO John Hanke regarding PvP battles coming to Pokemon Go.
PvP is planned for some point in the future, as well as the long-awaited trading mechanic, but neither Niantic nor The Pokemon Company want to bombard entry-level players with too many features at a time.
“Battling is a category that we do best at Pokemon," said Ishihara. "But it’s important to really carefully consider any feature that may increase the difficulty and raise the barrier to entry for more casual users.”
Last week, Hanke also reiterated the company was discussing the addition of trading, something which has mentioned more than once for the mobile title
The most recent addition made to Pokemon Go was the Buddy Feature, which lets the player collect candy while out walking and show off a favorite Pokemon.
Pokemon Go Plus, the wearable piece of tech folks can use to interact with the Pokemon Go app without having to look down constantly, was released on September 16.
