Tour San Francisco in new Watch Dogs 2 gameplay trailer

Watch Dogs 2 has pretty clear ideas about who San Francisco is for, and it ain't Silicon Valley.

Watch Dogs 2 appears to be a love letter to San Francisco as a hotbed of counter culture, a quality many fear it will lose entirely as tech money squeezes everything else out.

Given the whole Black Mirror-esque "but what if technology... were bad" thing Watch Dogs is so keen on, this background means San Francisco makes a lot of sense as a setting. Will Ubisoft do anything interesting with this promising set up? Please set your expectations to "video games".

The trailer ends with an exhortation to watch YouTubers play Watch Dogs 2, so why not, uh, go watch Arekkz play Watch Dogs 2? You'll be able to play for yourself when when Watch Dogs 2 launches next month, of course.

I think I'm now supposed to say something about how the setting in Watch Dogs 2 is as much a character as et cetera, but perhaps I'll go have a sandwich and think about my unfinished novel drafts instead.
