Watch Chaos Warriors conquer in Total War: Warhammer
Total War: Warhammer has some terrific source material to work with in Games Workshops' complicated lore. Today's gameplay video gives us a look at one of the most anticipated factions.
The Creative Assembly has said the Chaos Warriors are potentially the toughest race to play as, because they have to expand constantly; it's very easy to extend too far and stretch your forces too thin among enemy positions.
The faction has some interesting mechanics on its side, though. As you'll see in the video above, players can sow discord in enemy cities, which may cause an independent chaos uprising making it easier for the player to conquer an affected region when they're ready. You'll even see signs of chaos corruption on the landscape itself.
Chaos Warriors aren't interested in infrastructure, and carry their settlements with them. Conflict is their primary source of income, and most upgrades focus on hero and forces rather than buildings. Tricky.
The Chaos Warriors DLC was originally announced as a pre-order exclusive but fans were so outraged that Sega later elected to give the DLC away for free during launch week.
Total War: Warhammer releases later this month and will have full mod support from day one. Want to know more? We've been hands-on with all Total War: Warhammer factions.
