Torment: Tides of Numenera completes final stretch goal
Torment: Tides of Numenera already set a Kickstarter record when it was funded at the beginning of the month. Not wanting to rest on its laurels (or your cash), developer inXile Entertainment continued crowdfunding in order to reach a final stretch goal. Today, that goal has been achieved.
The team set itself until the end of April to raise $4.5 million. Producer Thomas Beekers confirmed that, while donations slowed, Paypal funds are yet to be added to the $4,188,927 total that shows on the Kickstarter page. With an extra $239,438 in the bank and a number of pledges that are yet to be processed, Beekers ensured the goal has been met.
He also discussed exactly what this means for Torment over on the game's blog:
"Because you guys are so awesome we can implement every single one of our stretch goals, including not just the player 'stronghold' but also our ideas for expanded reactivity, length and depth, pursuing some of our crazier ideas concerning choice and consequence."
"As we outlined in update 19, while the classic 'stronghold' concept might not fit this game the potential is there to do some really interesting things to tie it into our theme of legacy and the unique weirdness of the Ninth World."
Congrats to all, and thanks to Shack for pointing this out.
