Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 becomes the fastest ever THPS to reach 1 million sales
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 is already a hit.
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 has sold over a million copies, and it did that faster than any other game in series history. Activision announced the news in a Tweet overnight, revealing the impressive milestone.
The figure refers to copies sold through to consumers, which is a change from the usual shipment numbers publishers typically release. Activision did not reveal, however, the exact total number of sales, or the split per platform.
Though 1 million may seem small, it's still laudable, particularly in the wake of the abysmal Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5. By all accounts, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 makes good on THPS' legacy in a polished, well-featured collection.
Dom Peppiatt said in our five-star review that developer Vicarious Visions "has proved that Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater was more than just a product of its time, and that – like skating itself – it has every chance of penetrating the mainstream once again."
