Tomb Raider sequel continues Lara's development, is "well-financed," says dev
Tomb Raider's sequel appears to be out of the bag this week, and now, Crystal Dynamics' senior art director Brian Horton, has acknowledged the project during a lecture, and even confirmed that it's well financed.
It follows the European trademark for Tomb Raider: Reflections. It suggests that this is the title in question. Publisher Square has also confirmed some sort of reveal for early December, suggesting an appearance at the Spike TV VGX awards.
Horton appeared at the UK's Bradford Animation Festival and accepted questions from the crowd afterwards. Addressing questions regarding the Tomb Raider sequel, he replied, “We’ve announced the sequel… I’m glad I can finally talk about!. The Tomb Raider sequel is the next chapter of [Lara’s] development… her life is changing. She can’t go back to the way she was."
When asked about the game's budget - following Square Enix labelling the game a failure earlier this year - Horton replied, "We don’t talk about our budgets… it’s a well financed game. We’re not spending any more on a sequel than on the original game.”
