Today's PUBG PC update has been banning players randomly, but it's now been fixed
PUBG Corp. has fixed the issue that caused many PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds players on PC to get unexpectedly banned.
Update: PUBG Corp. has confirmed on Twitter that the logic related bug that was caused by today's patch has been fixed. Any players who received a temp ban as a result of the issue are now unbanned.
Original article: Earlier today, PUBG developer PUBG Corp. performed server maintenance on PC and rolled out a new patch. Though the developer communicated this ahead of time, it did not say what the update was going to do.
Fast forward to a couple of hours later, and many players on Reddit and social media have are complaining about being banned from the game. No one knows why, with many claiming they had never cheated in their lives.
Though it may be easy to dismiss the cries of a banned player, the sheer volume of these reports is enough to convince anyone that something has gone terribly wrong.
And it has, because after a few hours of confusion, PUBG Corp. confirmed that this is the result of a "detection logic bug" in today's update, which we now know featured anti-cheat changes.
Hopefully it means that the ban messages most are seeing now don't actually mean that their accounts have been banned. In the meantime, you best not log in until the issues have been resolved.
