To The Moon will get a sequel, but in the meantime, enjoy this fake trailer about loot boxes

A tongue-in-cheek trailer for Finding Paradise shows that Freebird Games is well aware of what its fans actually want.

To The Moon was a tragically charming Adventure RPG that swept through the indie gaming space way back in 2011. Freebird Games started work on sequel shortly afterwards - and even release a small spin-off game - but the promised follow-up called Finding Paradise is almost ready to launch.

But first! A new trailer in a hopefully-joking, tongue-in-cheek vein of the goofy, survival horror teaser image.

To The Moon puts you in the lab coats of doctors at Sigmund Corp, an organization that has perfected technology to craft artificial memories. The company's goal is "wish fulfillment" - creating a new series of memories on one's death bed so patients can die peacefully and without regrets. To The Moon's story follows the doctor's attempts to create memories for a patient who wishes he had gone to space, prompting an exploration of his past to figure out why this objective is so important. (Spoiler alert: It's a tear-jerker.)

Of course, the trailer strikes a completely opposite tone from To The Moon or Finding Paradise, focusing instead on action, explosions, and loot boxes. Thankfully, the trailer ends with a central character realizing it was all a bad dream before proceeding to the actual emotionally heavy content. Finding Paradise creator Kan Gao has promised an official trailer for the actual game will arrive soon.

There's a tiny part of me that might actually enjoy "2 The Moon", but I'm still excited that Finding Paradise is almost here. The finished game launches for PC on December 14, 2017.
