Titanfall: Xbox One alpha registration entries live, current invites are for "limited technical test"

Titanfall publisher EA has opened an alpha registration site for Respawn's shooter, giving you a chance to play it ahead of its March 11 release. Today, a few invites were sent out and according to Respawn, these invites were for nothing more than a "limited technical test" and for North America only.

Speaking on Twitter, Respawn stated the following: "As some of you are asking, we are doing a limited technical test. It is not a beta, and we don't have any beta news at the moment."

The alpha sign up site was discovered after a NeoGAF member received an email invite that lead them to this official Titanfall alpha site.

Upon double-checking it wasn't a scam with EA support on Twitter, the publisher confirmed that yes, this is real.

I entered the trial over on the site to see what happens, and all you do is log-in with your Origin account to apply. You're then greeted with a message that reads, "Your application to participate is complete. If you are selected to take part in our upcoming test, you will receive an email in the coming days with a unique code and instructions on how to download and access the game on Xbox One. Thank you!"

It's an Xbox One trial then, as I was given no option to select the PC or Xbox 360 test.

We'll update you if we hear more on the alpha.

Meanwhile, this Titanfall Xbox One controller will cost you $64.99.
