Three amazing words to write: "VG247 staff promotions"
They pushed the graphs up. They rise, too.
Good things! I'm super-pleased to confirm some long overdue changes within the VG247 editorial team, moves we hope will future-proof our staff structure as we continue to grow.
Firstly, I'm delighted to announce two promotions for long-term staffers.
Stephany Nunneley was employee number two on VG247 after myself, having joined the site in 2009. Over the years, Steph's become our undisputed news boss, a journalist, writer and manager capable of handling any coverage situation, be it remote live reporting, event scheduling or keeping our sometimes boisterous freelancers in line. We're making Steph's news leadership official, promoting her to VG247's News Editor, a new role which takes responsibility for our entire news output across all territories.
In addition, Brenna Hillier has been promoted to VG247's Deputy Editor. Brenna's contribution to the site since joining in 2011 will be obvious to any VG247 reader who's stuck with us over the past few years, and her superb writing, bottomless pit of features ideas and "aerodynamic cheekbones" (her words) have had a huge impact on our general direction and success. As well as continuing to write news and features, Brenna will now work directly with editor Matt Martin on future editorial strategy.
I'd like to offer my personal, heartfelt congratulations to Brenna and Steph. This praise is richly deserved.
Secondly, I'd like to highlight the incredible groundwork of Sherif Saed. Sherif has been writing for VG247 on a permanent basis since last year, but today he has an official job title of Staff Writer. We see great things in Sherif's future, and hugely appreciate his efforts both in writing news under Steph's guidance and producing high-traffic headline features.
You can see these changes reflected on our staff page. Congratulations to all!
