Those Rifts in Fortnite's Map... They're Getting Bigger

On Saturday, June 30, we reported about how a rocket launched in Fortnite Battle Royale right around 10:30 am PST/1:30 pm EST. From the rocket launching, things only escalated.
After the rocket initially took off, the booster section fell back to the ground. We broke it open with pickaxes, but there was nothing of merit inside. From there, a flash of blue light appeared in the sky, and from then on, a giant tear can be seen in the sky whenever you're playing Fortnite Battle Royale.
As players, including ourselves, discovered in the hours after the rocket launched in Fortnite Battle Royale, there were several rifts left on the map. We visited one of these rifts, located in the northwestern section of Lonely Lodge, and since it first appeared on June 30, this particular rift has increased in size.
The rift isn't exactly getting bigger by the minute, but it's certainly increasing in size. What this could mean for the future of Fortnite, we've got absolutely no idea, but it definitely seems to be pointing towards a reveal for Fortnite Season 5, which is due to launch worldwide on July 12, around a week and a half after the rocket first launched.
We'll keep an eye on these rifts in Fortnite Battle Royale, in case they get any bigger. In the mean time, head over to our best Fortnite skins page for a complete cosmetics ranking, or our Fortnite Week 10 challenges guide.
