This is what the "average" Runescape gamer looks like

This is kind of cool and kind of silly; Runescape developer Jagex photographed a whole bunch of players in order to generate an "average Runescape gamer" image.

According to GamePolitics, Jagex took its photos at just one Runescape event in the UK attended by over 2,000 players, which is hardly representative of the free-to-play MMO's 220 million registered members worldwide. Nevertheless, you can look at the image above to see what the "average Runescape gamer" looks like, if you enjoy ignoring facts.

Appaently determined to gather as much information about this fictitious average gamer as possible, Jagex also surveyed 1,157 UK respondents to put together some interesting demographic observations on (a tiny portion of) its player base. 18% of Runescape players are women, Jagex found, and 34% are over 35.

Jagex also recorded ways in which (a statistically insignificant and unrepresentative slice of its) player base differs from the general UK population. Runescape gamers are more likely to be in relationships and have full time employment, apparently.

Thanks, Kotaku.
