These rare Assassin's Creed Origins headphones cost €50,000

Who wants an 18-carat set of headphones?

We've all heard of outrageous merchandise for stupidly wealthy gamers, but the Assassin's Creed Origins Utopia headphones? They might just take the cake, and start serving it to starving peasants nearby. Designed by audio company Focal, these rare headphones carry detailed Egyptian designs printed in 18-carat gold.

Buying a set will cost you a mere €50,000/£44,000/$59,000 - and that's not the only hurdle to obtaining one. Only 10 Utopia headphones exist in the world, all of which can be found at French jeweler Tournaire's boutique in Paris. Getting the video game's limited edition is much easier by comparison.

Still too pedestrian for you? How about the fact that each is displayed on a bronze bust of Origins protagonist Bayek? And you can buy said bust for €12,000/£11,000/$14,000?

Alternatively, you could pick up the standard Origins "Listen" headphones, which only cost £199. That seems almost reasonable by comparison, doesn't it?

Assassin's Creed Origins launches for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on October 27, 2017.
