There's a new Five Nights at Freddy's game out now, cheerfully disguised as a free pizzeria simulator

Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator is, judging by fan reactions, a bit more sinister than it initially seems.

The Five Nights at Freddy's series, which has spanned five games, two spin-offs, and two novels up to this point, has received a new entry - but it doesn't look like a typical series entry at first. Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator presents itself as...well, a pizzeria simulator with a crude 2D art style and bare bones menus.

The reviews that are popping up on Steam and YouTube, though, seem to indicate that there's a lot more to the game, and that it is, basically, Five Nights at Freddy's 6. Most of the Steam reviews positing opinions along these lines have a playtime hovering around the 90 minute mark, so it seems like things escalate pretty fast.

Some user reviews are suggesting that the game is basically FNAF 6, which is interesting because that game was in development for a while, but was cancelled before it was properly announced. Whether the original version looked like this, or there was a major change-up during development, is unknown.

In any case, if you're a fan of the weird horror franchise, Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator is completely free on Steam, so there shouldn't be too much holding you back from giving it a look.
