There's a Half-Life 2: Episode 3 game jam designed to bring Marc Laidlaw's vision to life
Half-Life 2: Episode 3 may soon become a reality, thanks to a new game jam.
As you may have guessed, the idea is to create a game out of the Episode 3 synopsis lead writer Marc Laidlaw shared on Friday.
The initiative was kicked off by game developer Laura Michet, who set up an ith.io page (via Kotaku) for the event. Submissions are due two months from now, so there's definitely enough time to put together something.
The only rule is to "adapt Marc Laidlaw's synopsis in whole or in part in a style of your choosing." Participants don't need to use a particular art style or engine, and they're free to use the correct synopsis or the gender-swapped one Laidlaw published.
"I hope that from my perspective we can honour the people who worked on Half-Life 3 and came up with the synopsis and never got to make it," Michet told the site.
Let's hope we get an actual Half-Life mod out of this that serves only to present a playable game out of Epistle 3.
