There is apparently a new ToeJam and Earl game in development.

The original developer of ToeJam and Earl is working on a new entry in the classic franchise.

According to a Facebook post on the game's official page, a small team is in early stages of development of a new TJ&E game. A few pieces of early chracter concepts were posted, wit the steam promising to reveal more details soon.

The Facebook page is owned by HumaNature Studios, developers of the recent Doki-Doki Universe. The studio is headed by Greg Johnson, one of the game's original designer.

ToeJam and Earl is a highly-regarded classic that started off on the Sega Genesis/ MegaDrive. The last ToeJam and Earl game, was ToeJam & Earl III: Mission to Earth, which came out in 2002 on the original Xbox.
