The Walking Dead: making Clementine the hero was "really challenging"
The Walking Dead: Season 2 seems to have gone down pretty well with fans of the series so far, but behind the scenes TellTale struggled to implement its new protagonist.
Speaking at SXSW, as reported by Polygon, TellTale's Kevin Bruner described the transition from Lee to Clementine as protagonist as "one of the most challenging" things Telltale could have done moving from one season to the next.
"In Season One you played a college professor, smart, capable, physically fit and now in Season Two, you play a little girl," he said.
"Like, the whole challenge is you're playing as a character who was an NPC before, the way the world treats her is very, very different. As a little girl you walk into a conversation about zombies attacking, pretty much nobody wants to know what the little girl wants to do.
"Crafting situations where Clementine is really empowered and important in a way that makes sense was really challenging."
The Walking Dead: Season 2 - Episode 2 released last week for iOS, Mac, PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
