Pick up The Walking Dead: Assault on Android during its launch period for just $3.
Described as the "definitive version" of the mobile game, The Walking Dead: Assault will release for Android devices via Google Play today.
The enhanced version has had a visual and audio brush up, has been rebalanced, and boasts additional booster items. It also includes Michonne, a character added to the iOS version post-launch.
The Walking Dead: Assault begins with Rick Grimes waking in hospital. Players then choose a team of four from the comic's cast - Rick, Lori, Carl, Glenn, Shane, Michonne, Andrea, Carol, Sophia and Dale - each with unique abilities.
Completing bonus objectives and challenges unlocks exclusive content from The Walking Dead including artwork, wallpapers and behind-the-scenes trivia. Some episodes contain material from the current comic storyline.
The mobile effort's 3D art pays close homage to the original comics; check out some screens below showing off optimisations for Samsung Galaxy, Nexus and HTC1 devices running Android v2.3 with at least 512MB RAM. The Walking Dead: Assault is also available on iOS, and has been well-received.
Developer Gamagio is a London indie with strong ties to Project CARS developer Slightly Mad Studios. Its previous releases include Eager Beaver and Skid.
