The Surge heads to an amusement park for its upcoming expansion, A Walk in the Park

Players returning to The Surge this December will be able to beat up the bad guys in a brand new environment.

A Walk in the Park is set in CREO World, a holiday retreat for the workers of CREO. It takes the action of The Surge into a more colourful and 'fun' environment than they might be used to, although there are still roving crowds of evil robots and 'insane' rescue teams roaming around, looking to kill you.

By the sound of it there will be death traps everywhere and at least one huge boss fight to look forward to in the middle of the park, so we don't imagine you'll get to spend much time riding rollercoasters or eating corndogs. There will, on the other hand, be sixteen brand new weapons to try out, so maybe the absence of a ring toss game isn't too big a deal.

A 'Complete Edition' of the game is also coming, which will give you The Surge along with its DLC. This will be available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, although a definite release date has not yet been nailed down. It means that if you've been waiting to check out The Surge, though, it's worth waiting just a bit longer. There's also a fairly extensive demo of the game available, if you'd like to give that a shot.

The Surge was an under-the-radar release this year, but one that plenty of people enjoyed - hopefully this last bit of DLC will be good fun.
