How to Beat LU-74 Firebug Boss
Once you've finally made it to the arena in which the Firebug resides, it will drop from the ceiling, presenting quite the menacing foe. Your goal throughout this fight is to basically hack off all six of its legs, to render it significantly less dangerous.
In this first stage of the fight, the Firebug has two main types of attack. The first will be to whack the player with one of its many legs, should they get too close, and the other is to furiously spin all its legs around at once, effectively charging towards the player in the form of a makeshift buzzsaw.
The former of these attacks is actually the easier to get caught out by, as in the buzzsaw phase all you have to do is merely keep dodging backwards. As soon as you see the Firebug bring one of its legs up, immediately jump backwards, as this will take you out of range of its leg attack.
Jump straight back into the fight as soon as it has finished performing one of these abilities, and get in 1-2 hits on a leg. At 4 hits, a leg will fall off, causing the Firebug to temporarily drop to the ground. When this happens, run in and give the main body a good few hits, before the Firebug retreats.
After the player has successfully knocked off three legs from the Firebug, the boss will move into its second phase. The Firebug gets considerably more aggressive in this stage, swooping down on the player from afar as well as keeping its previous attacks, but there's a good strategy to countering this aggression.
When the Firebug backs off to either corner of the arena and prepares to charge the player, merely jump to either side once it begins the attack, and you'll be able to dodge it just fine. In addition to this, the boss also has a flamethrower attack, but this has barely any range and the Firebug won't actually move towards the player while performing this attack.
Once again, your goal should be to destroy the remainder of its legs, so that it can't whack you if you get too close, and also taking its buzzsaw attack out of the equation. Dodge towards the boss after any of its attacks, just like you did before, and land a few quick hits on any of the legs, before backing out again.
After all the legs have been hacked off, you're in the home stretch. Position yourself underneath the Firebug for a quick second, and the boss will perform a slam attack onto the ground. Your goal is to dodge this attack, and then dodge back towards the boss to hit it quickly while it's still recovering.
Repeat this tactic, and the Firebug should be down in no time at all, as the defence of the boss appears to significantly lessen after you've taken off all its legs.
