The studio behind Until Dawn registers trademark for new game, Shattered State
Supermassive Games has registered a trademark for their upcoming title, Shattered State.
Until Dawn developer, UK-based Supermassive Games, has registered a trademark for a new game called Shattered State. Spotted by resetera user yoonshik, the details of the trademark don't include Sony this time around, who was listed on PS4 exclusive Until Dawn's trademark as the owner.
The studio has released a slew of Sony-exclusive titles up until now, and the absence of the publisher's name may indicate that this time around, its newest title isn't going to be confined to the PlayStation 4.
With Gamescom kicking off tomorrow, it's possible that we may see an announcement related to Supermassive's new game this week.
This year's event marks Gamescom's 10th anniversary, and "huge" surprises have been teased by the organisers.
Ubisoft and THQ Nordic are set to present "global premieres" during the opening ceremony, with the latter showcasing an unannounced title base on an existing IP.
A Shenmue 3 announcement is scheduled for tomorrow, while a brand new game from Bandai Namco and an unnamed European developer has also been teased.
Whether Shattered State could be that game is anyone's guess, but there's not long to wait to find out.
You can watch the opening ceremony on the Gamescom website, or download the mobile app on iOS and Android.
