Explore The Sinking City's unique investigation mechanics in new footage
The Sinking City, Frogwares' Lovecraftian, noire investigation game, has produced a nifty new overview trailer.
Developer Frogwares is mostly known for its Sherlock Holmes games, so it's no surprise that The Sinking City follows in their footsteps.
Today's video does a great job of outlining exactly what you're going to be doing in the game. Though this is still an investigation adventure game, there's plenty of supernatural elements thrown in this time thanks to the setting.
Right off the bat, the developer proudly promises no hand-holding of any kind. The game won't tell you which quests to take, or how to solve them. You'll have to rely on your people skills, detective prowess, as well as a few otherworldly abilities protagonist Charles W. Reed posses.
Much of the gameplay still relies on scouring crime scenes for evidence, analysing it, and putting together a case. Even Sherlock Holmes' Mind Balance returns, where you'll be able to connect the dots and hopefully reach a satisfactory answer.

The Sinking City initially had a March 21 release date on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Recently, however, the date was taken off the game's Steam, and Amazon pages. Publisher Bigben has yet to confirm a new release date, but it's looking likely now that it won't hit in March.
