The Secret World approach to groups revealed

It's been all of two weeks since we heard anything from The Secret World, but things are still ticking over on the conspiracy-riddled MMO. We all know about the big picture, three factions facing off over the future of humanity - but what about the smaller elements? The micro, as you will?

A scary monster from The Secret World

Fortunately, Lead Content Designer Joel Bylos knows all the answers (as he should!). While the Illuminati, the Templars and the Dragon are waging full-scale war, there are many individual battles being played out across The Secret World - and as he explained to The Electric Playground, group dynamics are an important element of the game.

"We really feel that an MMO is a shared experience, right? It's very important that people work together to solve these problems. That's the greatest sort of feeling of achievement: when you work together with other people to overcome something."

Bylos explains later that most groups are made up of five characters, with raiding groups made up of 10. And, in an interesting twist: Unlike other MMOs which shall remain nameless (note: most of them, really), The Secret World seems to be working on the concept that players don't need to partner up with specific other player types in order to succeed. It may become viable ingame for a group made up entirely of tanks to take on a dungeon - and win - as long as each one's equipped with self-healing abilities.

Thanks, Massively!
