The Order: 1886 story, gameplay, weapons and setting details revealed in latest Game Informer

The Order: 1886, which is the PS4 exclusive in development at Ready at Dawn and Sony Santa Monica, is featured in the latest issue of Game Informer and details from the November digital edition edition have surfaced.

Various story details are included such as how its a mix of actual historical events blended with sci-fi and fantasy - all of which was announced during E3. However, according to the 12-page spread, years ago humanity "splits" and a small group become "genetically different" with bestial traits. These folks are called "half-breeds", according to what CVG gleaned.

These are new species but are similar to mythological creatures and they start a war which changes the course of history. Centuries later, none other than King Arthur himself and his intrepid Knights of the Round Table (who dance when e're they're able?) decide to save humanity from these retched half-beasts.

The fellows also discover something called "Black Water" which when ingested slows the aging process, gives them longer lives and the ability to recover from injuries; thus they can fight the ongoing battle for centuries.

During the 19th century, these half-breeds are winning the war, but the tides are changing in favor of the humans thanks to the Industrial Revolution and the technology that comes along with it.

Now, the knights are set within the House of Lords in London, to protect realm under orders of the Lord's Chancellor and you, Sir Galahad, are the game's protagonist, who is tired of his long life and begins to question his place in the world.

It sounds rather interesting, and I won't post any more of it here in case there are spoilers. However, you can check out more through the link yourself.

The Order: 1886 is slated for PS4 sometime in 2014.
