The Last of Us Season Pass DLC plans outlined: first of three packs drop next month

The Last of Us DLC plans have been outlined by Naughty Dog, starting with the first of three Season Pass drops: the multiplayer-centric Abandoned Territories Map Pack.

Here's the official blurb from the PS Blog:

"Weather the opposing Faction and the random, dynamic dust storm on the Suburbs map. Explore a layered map of an overgrown urban environment with wild giraffes in the background in the Bus Depot map. Stalk around in a dark, eerie, moonlit, environment – the perfect setting for some serious stealth – in the Hometown map. Bookstore features a stacked, bi-level layout adding a highly unique dose of vertical gameplay."

The upcoming story-driven single player DLC for the title ties into the narrative of The Last of Us and the developer just finished up its casting process for a new character, and will start performance capture next week. The single-player DLC is currently planned for release around December-January.

The third Season Pass DLC is multiplayer focused and will arrive in the first half of 2014. More information on this will be made available closer to release.

Bonus items in the Season Pass will contain over 60 different head items for your character ranging from a Nightmare Mask to a Pigskin Hat that will be free for all Season Pass buyers.

These head items will be available a la carte as well.

The Season Pass is available now on PlayStation Store or at your local GameStop for €19.99/$19.99.

The Abandoned Territories Map Pack will be made available October 15 in the US and October 16 in the UK.
