The Last of Us DLC, Left Behind, gets new story trailer

Ellie, the brave 14-year old we all came to love, is front and centre in Left Behind, the first piece of single-player DLC for The Last of Us.

A new story trailer posted on IGN shows the opening minute of the episode, introducing Ellie's 16-year old friend and sometimes mentor, Riley.

Some other little nuggets of info were revealed through an interview with the actress who plays Riley, Yaani King. The episode is a prequel to the main story, taking place mostly at the quarantined boarding school we've heard Ellie talk about.

King describes Left Behind as a little bit lighter than the core game. "You get to be a little more playful, you get to see a side of Ellie, along with Riley, that is a bit more carefree, not so focused on the world that they live in and the reality in which they live in," she said.

The Left Behind DLC for The Last of Us is due in early 2014, for $14.99.
