The Invincible is a new sci-fi adventure from ex-CDPR and Techland devs
The Invincible is a new game from former CD Projekt Red and Techland developers.
The Invincible is a first-person sci-fi adventure game inspired by a 1964 novel of the same name, by legendary author Stanislaw Lem. The game, in development for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, is the work of the new Starward Industries studio.
Starward is a 12-person Polish team made up of developers who worked at CD Projekt Red, Techland and other leading development studios. The game was unveiled today with the help of some stunning screenshots, and a preview of its music.
The Invincible is a retro-future game about a scientist on an alien planet who goes on a journey to find their missing crew mates. At the heart of the planet lies a deep secret, which you will uncover over the course of the journey. The game mixes interactive storytelling with survival elements.
Starward says player choices and how they react to the situations they find themselves in will influence how the game's non-linear story unfolds. The game looks fantastic, as you can see in the screenshots below. Though we hoped for a trailer, the soundtrack preview already has us excited about its potential.
The Invincible is due for release sometime in the second half of 2021.
