The Great Fallout 4 Leak Super-Question: do graphics really matter?

It's all about the gameplay, right?

It was inevitable. With a game as long-awaited and as hype-surrounded as Fallout 4, Bethesda was always going to face impossibility in keeping it under wraps.

While the intention was to fence open gameplay away from the internet (aside from a few snippets earlier in the year), footage leaked out over the weekend showing the series's latest installment in all its mysterious glory.

Or did it? The fires of the internet now rage bright: does Fallout 4 look rubbish? Does it look amazing? Is it the next-gen technical experience you were hoping for? Can anyone even know from watching a bit of video on YouTube?

And, most importantly: with a game like Fallout 4, do visuals even matter so much? These huge Bethesda RPGs are all about the experience, right?
