The Gallery is a lovely narrative VR title launching alongside HTC Vive next week
The Gallery, a first-person narrative adventure from Cloudhead Games, and its first episode will launch alongside HTC Vive next week.
The Gallery: Episode 1 - Call of the Starseed find the player searching for their missing sister. Along the way they will come into contact with bizarre characters and a "cosmic machine filled with dark secrets," as they continue their adventure and solve puzzles. Players will have complete freedom of movement using their hands and body.
VR environments include lonely beaches, sewer systems, laboratories. and the derelict beaches, abandoned sewers, quirky laboratories and a mysterious machine which uses Cloudhead’s Blink Locomotion system.
The Elder Scrolls and Guild Wars 2 composer Jeremy Soule is behind the soundtrack.
Cloudhead, made up of former Bioware, Relic, Riot and EA developers, built the game from the ground up specifically for VR. Inspired by dark fantasy adventure films from the 1980s like Goonies or Labyrinth, The Gallery had full motion-control features and works in room-scale.
The Gallery: Episode 1 - Call of the Starseed will be released on April 5 on Steam and the HTC Vive's Viveport Store.
