The For Honor Frost Wind Festival will add new content and a limited-time new mode
For Honor is getting a big 'winter' update, so get ready to endure the cold.
The Frost Wind Festival, which will run from December 21 2017 until January 4 2018, turns everything cold. If you're in a country that is currently experiencing winter, this will seem appropriate; those of us in Australia, meanwhile, will enjoy a reminder of what it is to be cold during the summer.
First up, new winter gear will be handed out to everyone. There will be weapons and outfits, but also emotes and mood effects. You can also pick up a faction-exclusive 'mask' outfit for your warriors, which will cost 15,000 steel each. All cool, but not as enticing as a new limited-time mode.
The trailer above shows off two warriors fighting on cracked ice, which has broken away from the mainland - our guess is that this is going to be what the new mode looks like, with the possibility of players perhaps falling through the ice.
For Halloween we got the Endless March event, so hopefully For Honor will continue to provide timed, themed events to keep players coming back.
For Honor has just wrapped up a testing period for dedicated servers, and recently launched its fourth season. It's had a pretty active first year.
The Frost Wind Festival is a free event on all platforms, so be sure to check it out over the holidays.
