In an interview with GameRant ahead of the livestream, Ubisoft Massive discussed what The Division players can expect in Year 2 of the game.

There will be two free expansions focusing on PvE released this year for all players of The Division, with the first drop hitting during summer and second arriving later in the year.

According to Gerighty, the first DLC will "continue the philosophy" put into place with the 1.4 update.

"It’s a philosophy of generosity and rewarding players for spending time in the game and playing and driving them to player-driven activities where they can craft their own unique stories," Gerighty told GameRant. "That’s something we really, really believe in.”

While not much was given away, the first will contain new events, PvE content in both "new ways", solo and with other players. One new way to play will come in the form of an events structure which rewards players for "participation, completion, and competition" will be added through a playlist containing a modifier.

While PvP activities are still in consideration, the team is concentrating instead on replayability of PvE content currently included in The Division. The team "may open" the new content up "to more activities," but at the beginning, the activities will be open to all in the free expansion.

A feature which allows the player to switch between loadouts for encounters is also in the pipeline, and more details on this feature will be provided in the livestream.

"Specific loadout slots will provide players the ability to switch between a preferred loadout to another to match a particular situation," said Gerighty. "Another one is feats, which will reward players within the game with unique patches and vanity items that shows these players have achieved a certain level of confidence within the game.

"We see these as our very own Division achievements.”

In the livestream today, viewers can expect to hear more on the content and what else to expect in Year 2.

We'll give you all pertinent information out of the stream when it goes live.
