The Division: Trained Talent nerfed in latest update

Players firing up The Division today will notice a change was applied during the downtime this morning.

The maintenance period only lasted around 15 minutes, but during this time Ubisoft Massive disabled “Trained Talent” on the SMG as it could give an "unfair advantage" in end-game content and in the Dark Zone.

As Arekkz explains in the video above, when the Talent was applied to a high-end SMG such as the Midas, it allowed the player to keep the Signature skill up 100% of the time.

When players would venture into the Dark Zone for PvP using this talent, they and their teammate would basically annihilate other players due to critical hits increasing the Signature Skill resources. Considering SMGs all come with a Critical Hit Chance bonus as standard, the frequency at which a player lands crits was already pretty high.

Typically, a Signature Skill takes around 10-13 minutes to recharge, but with Talent applied to this gun, recharging only took 30 seconds due to the higher rate of recharges.

Now that the nerf has been applied, it will make things a bit more fair in PvP. According to Massive, Talent will still be visible on weapons but will have no effect until a further update where it will be replaced on existing weapons.

Some general balancing of experience gain and drop rates for items and currency were also applied during the downtime this morning.
