The Division 2 Endgame Guide
The Division 2 endgame begins once you hit level 30. The map changes considerably, and any progress you made on freeing the city is squashed by the arrival of a new clan of baddies—The Black Tusk. They’re a difficult bunch, and you’ll need to constantly improve your Gear Score and climb up the World Tiers to keep up. Let’s take a look at some details on The Division 2 Endgame.
The Division 2 World Tiers
Upon reaching level 30, and once you’ve beaten the last Stronghold, a cutscene will play. All seems to be going well, there’s even a pretty fireworks display to enjoy, that is until The Black Tusk shows up. They are a tech-savvy group of mercenaries who take over the city, moving into the strongholds and even blocking off one of the Dark Zone areas. To beat them, you’ll need to move through the World Tiers system of gear. Each World Tier contains loot of a certain Gear Score, with World Tier 4 being the highest in the game thus far. Here’s how to increase World Tier rating in The Division 2.
- World Tier 1 - automatically reached after level 30
- World Tier 2 - Complete 2 Invaded missions, then clear a Stronghold
- World Tier 3 - Complete 2 Invaded Missions, clear Stronghold at gear level 325
- World Tier 4 - Complete 2 Invaded missions, clear stronghold at gear level 375
The Division 2 Gear Score
So to move up the World Tiers in The Division 2, you’ll need to increase your Gear Score. Gear Score is the average value of all of your highest gear. To increase your Gear Score, you need to find and equip better armor and weapons. At this point in the game, focus on Gear Score, and disregard Health, Armor, and Skill Power. You’ll earn gear based on your Gear Score, so completing missions, clearing activities and crafting new items will easily get you to the required level to progress.
The Division 2 Invaded Missions
One of the new activities that unlock once you trigger the endgame in The Division 2 is Invaded Missions. These missions are beefed-up versions of the missions featured in the main story, with Black Tusk taking over the reins from the previous enemies. They are extremely difficult and should not be attempted alone, though they are well worth taking on for the loot. Invaded missions are the best way to increase your Gear Score, so do a couple to unlock a stronghold.
The Division 2 Black Tusk Strongholds
Once you’ve completed the Invaded Missions in an area, and hit the required Gear Score, a stronghold will unlock. These Strongholds must be cleared to move up a World Tier, but beware that they are some of the hardest missions in the game. At present, there are 3 Black Tusk Strongholds to take on, with another set to arrive in the coming weeks.
The Division 2 Campus Settlement Invaded
Something you’ll no doubt notice after the Black Tusk invasion is that one of the Settlements has been turned red on your map. The Campus is being invaded by Black Tusk, and it’s up to you to save it. To do so, you need to complete the myriad objectives surrounding it, which will ease the pressure, and eventually switch the Campus back to its former glory.
