The Darkness II trailer delves into franchise origins

If you're not completely filled in on Top Cow's comics canon, this new trailer for The Darkness II explains why protagonist Jackie has the power to, you know, manifest enormous tentacle arms and singularities and such.
Top Cow, which was founded by veteran Marc Silvestri and is closely allied with Image, also publishes Witchblade and The Magdalena among other original and licensed properties. The Darkness is one of its premere titles.
Digital Extremes' take on the world of The Darkness is due on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in February, and is a sequel up to Starbreeze's 2007 effort.
