App Store fiasco: Capcom, EA, SEGA, Telltale games removed from purchase history

First it was BioShock, and now Telltale titles along with offerings from Capcom, EA, and SEGA among others have been removed from Apple's App Store.

Like BioShock before it, the issue stems from the games not being compatible with iOS 9 on iPhone or iPad.

Telltale, which removed The Walking Dead, Back to the Future, The Wolf Among Us, Jurassic Park and Sam and Max said it is aware of the issue and have temporarily removed the games from the App Store until the incompatibility issues are resolved.

Games which are in conflict with iOS 9 have a myriad of problems anywhere from the loss of sound to crashing.

Pocket Gamer has complied a list of games removed from the App Store, and it is rather large.

There have also been instances of developers retiring older versions of their software, and upon this occurring, Apple is removing the apps from user's purchasing history. This means customers can no longer download the app or game if they have removed it from their phone or tablet.

This is rather annoying, especially if you were trying to temporarily remove clutter and planned on re-downloading the app or game again in the future.

The same is also the case with the games being pulled due to iOS 9 conflicts. For instance: Telltale pulls its games from the stores until it can resolve said issues - and Apple removes the games from user purchase history.

Here's what an Apple rep had to say on the matter to Pocket Gamer: "If [developers] remove their apps from the store, they cannot be re-downloaded until the app has been resubmitted to the App Store."

So, just hold tight util the developers re-release their games. It might be a while, depending on the submission process. be sure to back your games up just in case.

Thanks, MCV.
