Telltale announces mega super-duper crossover... Poker game
Crazy. Wacky. Zany. Wild. Hilarious. Unpredictable.
All of these words can be used to describe gaming hall-of-famers like Tycho, Strongbad, Sam & Max, and TF2's Heavy. The game of Poker, though? Well, let's just say we can personally vouch for the fact that World Series of Poker matches on ESPN are a fantastic sleep aid.
But that's exactly what Telltale's big old pot of videogame series stew turned out to be. Poker Night at The Inventory, as it's known, will feature the above characters cooling off after a rough day of hijinks with a relaxing game of Poker. And more hijinks.
"We've had the idea for some time of exploring the idea of what video characters do when they're not ‘on the clock' in the games we play," said Telltale CEO Dan Connors. "We pitched the idea to friends in the industry and it really resonated. We all had a great time imagining what these guys would banter about while slinging cards – from there Poker Night at The Inventory was born."
Could be good for a few laughs, and for only $4.95, we can't really complain. Not without feeling really bad about ourselves, anyway. As you'd expect - seeing as it's 25% Penny Arcade - the game will be making an appearance at PAX this weekend, after which, it will take its place as one of the hundred-million fatal-to-your-free-time boulders in the Great Videogame Avalanche of Fall 2010.
Now put away that umbrella, son. It's not gonna do you any good here. Not unless it's made of God Himself.
Thanks, Kotaku.
