Team PES to use Fox Engine for next-gen Pro Evolution Soccer
Team PES senior producer Naoya Hatsumi has said at a recent Pro Evolution Soccer 2013 event in Brazil the series will use Kojima's Fox Engine when it goes next-gen.
"What we are trying to do is we are going to win back the crown when it comes to the next generation," Hatsumi said at the event. "That's what we want to do, and to do this we need to have a new engine. That's what we think.
"We have to use a new engine. Have you heard of the Fox Engine? We are working very closely with them."
The Fox Engine debuted just before E3 last year as the new engine that would power Hideo Kojima's next title, Project Ogre. The engine's also been mentioned in relation to the Zone of the Enders sequel, Enders Project, announced last week.
Team PES studio manager Toru Kato also answered the whereabouts of well known producer Shinji 'Seabass' Takatsuka. Short answer: new project for next-gen.
"In order to make it that much clearer, it's not the next generation product that Seabass is working on," said Kato, "it's something quite new."
Pro Evolution Soccer 2013 launches this autumn.
Thanks, EG.
