Tale of Tales' latest is Bientôt l'été

Belgian duo Tale of Tales has released a new game called Bientôt l'été. The low-key science fiction affair has players walking on a beach, speaking French and playing chess, and has caused a worldwide shortage on accent marks.

Tale of Tales says the adventure is "about love and loss, deception and desire, coyness and cruelty", and was inspired by French novelist and filmmaker Marguerite Duras. It boasts music by Walter Hus and although it's in French it has English, Dutch, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Swedish, Polish and Russian subtitles, with possibly more to come.

Bientôt l'été is available on Mac and PC and directly from the studio for $10. For those who really like the studio's eclectic output, there's also a $40 Extravagant Edition, which also grants a copy of an upcoming re-release with better graphics as well as a soundtrack.

If you're extra keen, you can pre-order a limited edition USB version which will include additional, as yet unannounced bonuses and put a few more dollars in Tale of Tales' pockets. That one will knock you back €40 plus postage.

Tale of Tales is responsible for The Endless Forest, The Path, The Graveyard and Fatale - all of which are to some extent bonkers. Critics are divided on their success. I'll take ten.
