Take-Two ships more than 22m copies of GTA IV
Whether or not Rockstar Games is hard at work on a sequel, Take-Two Interactive has paused for a moment to reflect on just how very well it has done for itself. The publisher has just released a bunch of sales data for Grand Theft Auto IV, and it's none too shabby.
Strauss Zelnick, head honcho at Take-Two was speaking at the annual ThinkEquity Growth conference, reports IndustryGamers, when he mentioned that the GTA franchise has shipped more than 114 million units to date. Of that, 22 million were GTA IV.
Other Take-Two franchises selling like proverbially warm baked goods: Red Dead Redemption at 12.5m, Midnight Club at 18.5, Civilization at 11, Bioshock at 9, and Max Payne at 7.5 - half a million behind Carnival Games.
Languishing somewhere near the bottom of the charts however is The Darkness, with a mere 1 million units moved. Here's hoping the upcoming sequel gives those figures a kick in the pants.
