Take a look at the new foggy weather condition in PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds
Fog is coming to PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds with this week's patch, and it looks like it's going to be the one to bring a big gameplay change.
Battlegrounds' foggy weather was teased several times before by developer Bluehole and creative director Brendan Greene, but it'll finally arrive with the next patch.
To tease fans even further, the developer posted a few screenshots of different parts of the map to show everyone how much of a difference fog is going to make the game.
As you can see, the limited visibility is immediately noticeable. This is the first time we've seen such limited viability on open ground in the game, and it's no doubt going to change up the sniping and camping gameplay significantly.
Like every other weather condition in the game, it'll show up randomly. Let's hope it doesn't become another case of people quitting as soon as they see it like they do whenever rain shows up.
The fog will also force players to rely on sounds more so as not to get snuck up on, the opposite of the rain weather condition. The new patch is also bringing a new weapon, and a host of bug fixes. That said, without playing it, it's hard to predict how far your you'll be able to see.
We'll find out all the details when it hits the test server.
