A few months after that a free-to-play Battle Royale mode launched, which is what kicked off Fortnite's journey to stardom.

Since then Fortnite has been updated with numerous themed seasons, map expansions, and hosted live in-game events which have evolved the game's story.

In-game events have even been used to hold concerts for superstar musical acts, or to promote Hollywood blockbusters.
