Prepare your thumbs: Swing Copters is the new game from the creator of Flappy Bird

Dong Nguyen, creator of Flappy Bird, has revealed his next game as Swing Copters. It's due for release on August 21. Have a look at this gameplay video.

It looks like Swing Copters plays like a sideways Flappy Bird, the player tapping left and right to avoid obstacles as the character moves up the screen.

Flappy Bird became a mobile game sensation earlier this year, before Nguyen removed it from sale over concerns that people were playing it too much. In its absence innumerable clones sprung up, suggesting that demand for the game was still high. It's yet to be seen whether this will carry over for Swing Copters.

Swing Copters will be free to download, with the option to pay a small fee to remove adverts. There's no information on confirmed platforms yet.
