Swim The Depths and unravel the Secrets of the Maw with first Little Nightmares content drop

Little Nightmares players can download the first piece of episodic DLC for the game from today.

The first post-release content for Little Nightmares is called The Depths, and as teased back in May, it stars a young boy.

In the first chapter of this escape story, another prisoner of the Maw known as The Runaway Kid swims around in the scary, flooded basement trying to solve water-based puzzles. While doing so, he will need to avoid The Granny, a monster lurking in the shadows. Very creepy.

Story-wise, The Depths takes place parallel to Six’s in the core game.

The Depths is part of the expansion pass which tells an episodic, alternate story called Secrets of the Maw. It will include three areas not in the core Little Nightmares game.

After the first episodic chapter, The Depths, is released today, players will have The Hideway and another hidden part of The Maw to look forward to in the future. These chapters will release in November and January 2018, respectively.

If you have yet to spring for the expansion pass, it will run you $10. On that note, if the game is on your "to buy" list but you've yet to mark it off, maybe the review scores for Little Nightmares will help sway you.

Scores were rather positive, and if you want an alternative opinion, Brenna also gave it go. You can read her thoughts on it here.

Developed by Tarsier Studios, Little Nightmares was released on April 28 and is available for PC, PS4 and Xbox One in digital and physical formats.

The Complete Edition, including the base game and the Expansion Pack, is also available for pre-purchase across the same platforms. All future content that is part of Little Nightmares: Secrets of The Maw will be accessible in-game once available on the respective stores.
