Survey: PS2 still most-owned games hardware in Japan

For the Japanese, HD really is something that happened to other people.

A CESA survey, which polled 1,000 members of the public on the last day of TGS this year, has shown that PS2 is still the most owned piece of gaming hardware in the country.

PlayStation 2 is owned more often than any other games console, with 70 percent of those questioned having one at home.

The 10 year-old machine is actually down from its peak of 78 percent from the same survey last year.

Nintendo’s DS came a close second at 68.7 percent, followed by PSP in third at 68.6 percent.

Wii stood at 56.7 percent, PS3 at 47.7 percent and Xbox 360 at 19.6 percent.

The full thing's here. Thanks, ecchichuu.
