How to Unlock Dark Pit in Super Smash Bros Ultimate

Unlike previous Smash games, fighters are unlocked in the same way for all, rather than character-specific challenges. This means that while it can be a bit of a grind, all you need to do is play the game naturally and you’ll eventually unlock all of the characters in Super Smash Bros Ultimate. We’ve listed the three ways you can unlock characters in Super Smash Bros Ultimate below:

  • Playing the World of Light single-player mode.
  • Completing Classic Mode with a character.
  • Playing the ‘Challenger Approaches’ fights that appear regularly, you will need to win them.

The fastest method involves triggering the Challenger Fights by reloading the game regularly. We’ve listed the method below:

  • Quit to the home screen and Restart the game.
  • Create a match with a custom rule set.
  • Make sure the match is 1 minute long, or 1 stock if you'd prefer.
  • After finishing the match (you can win or lose) you will offered a new Challenger Fight.
  • You'll need to win the Challenger fight
  • Repeat.

Super Smash Bros Ultimate Dark Pit Changes

Dark Pit is the Echo Fighter to Pit. He shares many of the same moves, with slight differences to the way he plays. Additionally, Dark Pit has one through a number of changes since his last appearance. We’ve detailed everything we’ve noticed below:

  • Some of Dark Pit’s animations have been changed including jumpsquat, idle, side taunt, and KO.
  • Guardian Orbitars appear faster
  • Guardian Orbitars will get smaller each time they are successfully hit.
  • Dark Pit has more detail in his design overall, especially his eyes—which are much more emotive.

Super Smash Bros Ultimate Dark Pit Alternate Outfits

Dark Pit Alternate Costumes

Much like the rest of the fighters in Super Smash Bros Ultimate, Dark Pit has alternate outfits which players can choose from. They are minor color variations in black/yellow, teal, black/orange, yellow, red, blue, white and purple. We’ll be adding more screens of Dark Pit’s Alternate Outfits once we get our hands on the game. You can check out the white version of Dark Pit

Super Smash Bros Ultimate Dark Pit Final Smash

Dark Pit seems to be keeping the same Final Smash as he used in his last appearance. In SSB4 he had a move called Dark Pit staff in which he unleashed a powerful attack from his staff. We’re not sure if there are any differences in the Ultimate version of the move but we’ll be sure to update when we get more info.

That’s everything we know about Dark Pit in Super Smash Bros Ultimate. We’ll be updating this guide as we learn more about the game, so stay tuned for further details. For more on the game, head over to our Super Smash Bros Ultimate Guides Hub.
