Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Dr Mario Guide
The majority of returning characters in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate have gone through a few changes. This includes Dr Mario, who has seen tweaks to his Final Smash, making it much more powerful. We’ve listed all of the key info below:
Dr. Mario Smash Bros. Ultimate Moves Set and Final Smash
Dr. Mario has a full range of moves in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, to rival the moves of his normal counterpart. In the table below, you can find a complete list of all the moves that Dr. Mario can pull off.

How to Unlock Dr Mario in Super Smash Bros Ultimate
Unlike previous Smash games, fighters are unlocked in the same way for all, rather than character-specific challenges. This means that while it can be a bit of a grind, all you need to do is play the game naturally and you’ll eventually unlock all of the characters in Super Smash Bros Ultimate. We’ve listed the three ways you can unlock characters in Super Smash Bros Ultimate below:
- Playing the World of Light single-player mode.
- Completing Classic Mode with a character.
- Playing the ‘Challenger Approaches’ fights that appear regularly, you will need to win them.
The fastest method involves triggering the Challenger Fights by reloading the game regularly. We’ve listed the method below:
- Quit to the home screen and Restart the game.
- Create a match with a custom rule set.
- Make sure the match is 1 minute long, or 1 stock if you'd prefer.
- After finishing the match (you can win or lose) you will offered a new Challenger Fight.
- You'll need to win the Challenger fight
- Repeat.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Dr Mario Changes
As with most of the characters returning for Super Smash Bros Ultimate, Dr Mario has gone through a few changes. Namely, his Final Smash, Doctor Finale, is a little more powerful. We’ve listed all of the main changes to Zelda since SSB4 below:
- Dr Mario’s Megavitamins deal more damage
- Pummel is faster
- Dr Mario now jumps higher
- Final Smash hits seven times instead of four
- His victory animation has changed slightly
- There’s a new down aerial. It’s a stomp move that deals more damage than its predecessor
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Dr Mario Alternate Costumes
Dr Mario’s alternate costumes seem to be the same as in his last outing. They are all just color swaps of his doctor’s coat in red, light blue, green, black, yellow, purple and pink. We’ll be updating with images once we get them.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Dr Mario Final Smash
Doctor Finale is Dr Mario’s Final Smash. It’s the same move he’s had for the last few games, though it has been slightly updated for Ultimate. It now hits seven times instead of just 4, and features Dr Mario looking a bit more fearsome than before. You can check it out in the video embedded above.
