Super Smash Bros. 3DS tourney, other Nintendo SDCC festivities announced
Nintendo is heading to San Diego Comic Con and attendees will be able to delves into Super Smash Bros. for both Wii U and 3DS, as well as additional upcoming game such as Hyrule Warriors, Bayonetta 2 and Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker.
The firm will also be streaming live game-play challenges on the Nintendo Twitch channel along with other activities. A local Mario Kart 8 online tournament will feature a bracket with 32 players and the winners of each local competition will be invited to participate in the online Mario Kart 8 tournament.
Those at home can get involved as well with the chance to go up against the local champions. The online tournament codes and schedule will be announced via Nintendo’s social media channels in the future.
Viewers skipping SDCC can watch the first-ever tournament for Super Smash Bros. for 3DS and challengers can sign up the day of the event on a first-come, first-served basis. The tournament will be conducted using the E3 version of the game.
A screening of the new animated film Bayonetta: Bloody Fate from FUNimation Entertainment will also be shown on Friday, July 25.

The Nintendo Gaming Lounge will also feature a display of amiibo, figures modeled after Nintendo characters that will interact with compatible Wii U and Nintendo 3DS games. A special area themed after Tomodachi Life will also be available, and there will be a booth dedicated to Super Smash Bros. for 3DS.
SCDD takes place July 24-27.
